Park Bench 3053 2
Started by Peggy Benjamin
Our shop is getting ready to offer 'Park Bench' by Julie Hermann (Jaybird Quilts) as a block of the month. Since we specialize in batiks we needed a sample to show potential customers what the finished quilt would look like. We loved the first one so much, we made two more versions! I'd love to hear what you think of each one ... do you have a favorite and if so, which one Park Bench: (light background) &91;IMAGE:2277&93; Park Bench Noir: ('quiet' batiks on black bac...

Grandmother's Flower Garden 2436 1
Started by Kendra
My favorite quilt is the Grandmother's Flower Garden...and I mean the traditional pieced hexagon, not paper pieced. I am looking for as many different ways this pattern has been used in making a quilt, with the ultimate goal to maybe put all of the information into a book someday (before I die!), like what you see with Log Cabin quilts. If you have any Grandmother's Flower Garden quilts and would be willing to share the photo with me, please let me know! I have looked for more than 30 ye...

Sparkling Gems Noir 1676 1
Started by Peggy Benjamin
I recently completed this shop sample for www.ConnectTheBlocks.com, for a block of the month program called 'Sparkling Gems Noir'. This is a HUGE quilt (king size), done in batiks on a 'dotty black' background (the black fabric has dots of color that are reflected in the block fabrics). The blocks are 15' finished, probably the largest blocks I've made in several years, and the quilt just turned out to be spectacular. It's one of those gasp-inducing quilts when you present in at Show 'n Tell ...
