How to quilt in or around embroiderd quilt blocks?

I have several blocks in my quilt that are embroidered. At the time it gets quilted, how do you recommend handling the quilting in, around or through the embroidered quilt blocks?

In most cases you would quilt the block because of the size of the embroidery block.

  • You can use a simple meander technique right up to and around the design.
  • You can use thread that matches the background fabric and you don't really even notice it's there.  Doing this tends to make the designs pop.
