Ocean Wave Quilters is a fun gathering of quilters and folks that are passionate about quilting in Sitka, Alaska. Members enjoy the gathering of quilters during the winter months in our Southeast Alaska rainforest. Meetings are the first Tuesday of each month, September through June, 6:30 pm at the Methodist Church. Open sewing is held the first Saturday after meeting: 10:00 am until 4:30 pm. Annual Mother’s Day Quilt Show is always the week before and week after Mother’s Day. In May there is also a month long Mini Quilt Show at The Backdoor Cafe in downtown Sitka. OWQ traditional Annual Mini Quilt Auction is in March. We raise funds for scholarships for graduating seniors. Quilting From the Heart is also a group project. We make quilts for newborn babies, quilts for the Pioneer Home, a quilt each year for the Sitka Cancer Survivor's Society raffle and many more special requests. All are invited to attend meetings and open sewing.
