Why Use QuiltingHub For Marketing

I guess if you are reading this, you know that QuiltingHub exists. Have you taken the time to experiment with all aspects of the web site? This article talks about how we, as quilters, can work to make this web site more complete for all of us. Please know that I have formed the opinions listed here over the three years that I have been associated with QuiltingHub, but these opinions are mine and not those of management.

Why Use QuiltingHub For Marketing

Quilters Move

That's a fact. And when they arrive in their new location, they most often want to find a group to join. Quilters are gregarious by nature. I think this is because learning from each other is one of our favorite sports.

Guilds/Groups List For Free

QuiltingHub lists quilt Guilds for free! Any non-profit Guild can be listed by your location, and it doesn't cost you anything. You can also add your quilt show for free. What a service we would provide to ourselves if every active Guild were listed in QuiltingHub!

What Can Be Listed - Everything

QuiltingHub also lists quilt shops, shop hops, museums, tours, retreats, calls for charity donations, classes, sew-ins, and more.

Why is all this important?

QuiltingHub has a Trip Planner that uses all the information. Every week someone in the RV Quilting Facebook group is traveling somewhere. This group has nearly 30,000 members. The requests for help in locating quilt shops along a route are frequent. Although I always comment on Facebook and recommend using Trip Planner, wouldn't it be great if the user could locate every shop, show, and museum along the way? See How To Use The Trip Planner™.

Minimal Listing Fees

QuiltingHub does charge a minimal fee for a complete listing (and free for guilds). However, this fee is inexpensive (read cheap!) compared to other forms of advertising. The more events and facilities that are listed in QuiltingHub, the more folks will use it and the more effective it will become. See Listing information for details.

Free For Quilters To Use

You, as the quilter, access all the information for free. This includes the directories, articles, etc. So, here's my idea: please help your favorite shop, show, museum, etc. to be listed in QuiltingHub. Some of you may be more computer literate and may have a little more time than those resource managers. If you are a museum volunteer, for example, you could volunteer to maintain the listing in QuiltingHub and even pay the listing fee. Seriously, for a museum, it will cost you less than $40 for the year!

Share, Share, Share

Shops, shows, etc. that are listed in QuiltingHub are more likely to be noticed by those of us who write for the resource. Wouldn't you just love to be in a featured article?

Please feel free to share this article/idea with your guilds, etc. You may even reprint it in your newsletter without worrying about copyright. Remember, the more, the merrier!
