Maximize Your Group Listing on QuiltingHub
QuiltingHub's Goal
Most of you know that QuiltingHub is committed to making sure you get the most out of QuiltingHub and to grow the quilting industry. To do that, we need to make sure every quilt group realizes that by working together on the items listed in this guide, we will all grow the industry.
Marketing Changes in Last 10 Years
Quilters went from using books and magazines to using the internet. Most of the major quilters we know have a sizable internet presence. You can use QuiltingHub to your advantage like they do.
The most important things to do will be adding your group description, photos, and events (shows, meetings, and call for quilts). Groups that do this will get more activity. The groups that delay doing this will hand the activity to the neighboring groups that have already done it.
Adding Your Description
Describe the group in this way: You are a group of (something) whose purpose is to (expand quilting) in the community. You have national and local speakers. You are involved in charities dealing with (name the top three). This should be short and sweet. Do not describe your meeting schedule as it appears in the calendar of events. Quilters want to know who you are, what you do, and what your efforts are contributing to.
Adding Your Photos
Add your group logo and include your group name clearly in the logo.
The four other images you should also include:
- Photo of happy group members
- Photo of beautiful quilts you have produced
- Photo of giving away beautiful quilts
- Photo of a recent show with happy people
Adding Your Events
About half of the way quilters find you are through your events. The shows are visible on the Trip Planner. The meetings are visible on local maps. All your events are visible on lists and your listing detail page. You can not afford not to add these events. Failing to add your events simply gives the attention to your competitor groups.
When quilters travel, they will stop at quilt shows. Once they arrive at their destination, they will attend your meetings. But none of this happens if you do not post your events.
After you add your first event and first show, they are pretty easy. To add an event, click the green "add an event" button found at the bottom of your listing detail page.
Finish The Completion Guide
Follow all the steps in the red "Page Completion Guide" button found on your listing detail page. These will include:
- Group description
- Add your meeting schedule into the calendar of events
- Add your next quilt show
- Link to QuiltingHub on your website home page (if exists). This can be any link to any part of the website. More examples of what you can link to are found below:
