Illinois is interested in quilt history, and the Illinois State Museum has been collecting quilts since the 1950’s. The current collection includes over 300 quilts dating from the 1830’s to the 1990’s, reflecting the trends in quiltmaking of Illinois quiltmakers. In addition, over 150 Amish quilts have been added to the collection. You will also see evidence of quilts along the quilt barn trails in Illinois.
